Staff

Gisele Fong, PhD,  Executive Director, is an educator and researcher, and taught for many years in the University of California, California State University and California Community College systems. Her work as an academic and activist have focused on social justice organizing and advocacy.  Advancing policies and technologies that are protective of environmental and public health is also personal work as Gisele is a resident of a community severely affected by port-related pollution and a mother to two young children.

Ryan Wiggins, Campaign Associate, has worked both internationally and domestically on advancing issues of environmental sustainability. In Latin America, he worked on establishing community and regional resource cooperation frameworks and the elaboration of indigenous land rights regimes. Domestically he has worked in the maritime industry promoting the greening of major ocean carriers and managing their international logistics. His experience also includes a tour in the U.S. Navy as a search and rescue swimmer and a stint in the U.S. Forest Service as a Wildlands Firefighter.
